1,351 families getting PM’s ‘House’ gift in Khulna

On the occasion of ‘Mujib Barsho’ Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to provide houses including land to 53,340 landless and homeless families across the country in the second phase.

Of these, a total of 1,351 landless and homeless families in nine upazilas of Khulna district will receive the ‘House’ gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday. 

The number of houses being handed over in this second phase is highest in the Khulna division.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Khulna Mohammad Helal Hossain held a press briefing on the occasion in his conference room on Friday morning. It was informed at the press briefing that the construction work of the houses to be distributed has been completed in all the upazilas of Khulna. 

The house built on 2 decimal of land for each family has already been prepared for handing over among the beneficiaries on Sunday after completion of document of acceptance and mutation, the DC added.

Among the 1,351 beneficiaries to receive the houses in Khulna, 500 families will receive houses in Dumuria Upazila, 215 in Rupsha, 300 in Paikgachha, 200 in Dakop, 40 in Terkhada, 30 in Batiaghata, 30 in Koyra, 30 families will receive the houses in Dighalia and six in Fultala Upazila.

It may be mentioned that on the occasion of Mujib Year, in the first phase, on January 23 this year, the Prime Minister provided houses with land to 69,904 landless families across the country. Out of which 922 families received the gift in Khulna district.
