1,000 Chuadanga families getting free houses during Mujib Barsho

Construction work of houses for landless and homeless people under Ashrayan Project-2 is going on in full swing at four upazilas of Chuadanga. 

A total of 997 landless and homeless people will get houses on the occasion of Mujib Barsha, under the guidance and supervision of Deputy Commissioner’s Office. 

At first phase, 134 landless and homeless people will get 134 buildings by January 15, sources added. 

Of the total buildings, 34 buildings will be handed over to 34 families in Sadar upazila, 50 buildings to 50 families in Alamdanga upazila, 32 buildings to 32 families in Damurhuda upazila and 18 buildings to 18 families in Jibannagar upazila. 

All the buildings are being constructed on khas land for landless and houseless of beggars, disabled people, widows, senior citizens under the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. 

It may be mentioned that each building is being constructed with two bed rooms, one varanda, a kitchen room, a bath rood and store room. 

Nazrul Islam Sarker, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chuadanga, told the Bangladesh Post that construction work of the project would be completed gradually. After completing the work, concerned authorities concerned would  hand over the buildings to the  selected people.
