In the aftermath of the devastating plane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara on Monday, which claimed the lives of several children and left many injured, prominent celebrities in Bangladesh have taken to social media to express their shock, grief, and emotional trauma which they have undergone since the tragedy.

Actress Pori Moni, in an emotionally charged post, revealed that the incident triggered a severe panic attack due to her childhood trauma related to fire. “I’ve had a trauma about fire since childhood, but I didn’t know it was still buried so deep and so terrifying,” she wrote on Tuesday.

“After seeing the burnt bodies of the little children, I had to be admitted to the hospital last night due to panic attacks. My heart aches for the mothers—how will they bear this pain?” Pori Moni stated.

Veteran media personality and Ittyadi host Hanif Sanket expressed his profound sorrow, saying, “I am speechless, deeply shocked. I have no words to express my grief.” Describing the moment of the crash, he said, "Never before has such a large number of children died in a plane crash. I pray that the innocent, tender-hearted students who were injured recover quickly and return to their mothers’ embrace."

Actress Jaya Ahsan expressed her heartbreak over the tragedy. “I can’t even look at the television screen. How can we accept the loss of so many little ones? I pray that the injured recover and return to normal life.”

Internationally acclaimed actress Azmeri Haque Badhan shared her personal connection to the site of the crash. “That road is part of my everyday route to take my daughter to school. Fortunately, her school is on summer vacation, but this incident has left me deeply traumatized,” she said. “Those innocent children had no idea it would be their last day. The pain of their families is unimaginable.”

Director Ashfaque Nipun condemned the public insensitivity and online spectacle surrounding the incident. “Forget the conspiracy theories, the debates over death tolls, and the performative sympathy. Just light a lighter at home and try holding your finger over it for one second. If you can’t, imagine what those children endured today.” He called for collective introspection and empathy: “May Allah give these children relief from their pain and help them return to a joyful life.”

Actress Bijori Barkatullah mourned the young lives lost in the tragedy. “Those poor, innocent children left the world after suffering burns and injuries. If we are finding this pain unbearable, how can their parents possibly endure it?” she wrote.

Filmmaker Chayanika Chowdhury shared the sleeplessness that has gripped the nation on Monday. “I’m sure no one has slept since last night. No mother certainly has, including me,” she said, offering prayers for all children and parents affected.

Director and Chorki CEO Redoan Rony lamented the loss of potential future stars in this horrific incident, stating: "Future pilots, doctors, artists, economists, and thinkers are now just numbers, and along with them, our sleep and dreams are gone too. May the Creator protect the families and keep our children from becoming mere pictures.”

The tragic crash at Milestone School has sent shockwaves across the country, with a collective national mourning unfolding both online and offline. As the investigation continues, the nation grieves for the lives lost and prays for the recovery of those still fighting for theirs.
