A truckload of Teak and Cashmere wood logs was recovered by the Department of Forest officials from Chattagram-Rangamati highway near Dhalarmukh Station under Icchamati range of Raozan while smuggling those out of the country around 12-00 midnight Sunday.
Sources informed, a team headed by SM Rezaul Islam, Dhalarmukh Station Officer of the Department of Forest seized a truck ( Chhatra-Metro-Da-11-2976) laden, some 80 square feet of Teak and Cashmere wood logs.
It is learnt, being informed Upazila Assistant Commissioner Aung Ching Marma went to the Dhalarmukh station of the Department of Forestry on Monday and unloaded the seized wood from the truck.
SM Rezaul Islam, Dhalarmukh Station Officer of the Department of Forest informed the truck-laden wood was seized on Sunday night but the driver of the truck and the smugglers managed to escape by leaving the truck and the wood.
