Tigresses passing thru tough period

Bangladesh's women's cricket team is in a slump. They were recently swept by Australia in a three-match T20 series and are now being thrashed by India in the five-match T20I series by the same way. Tigresses will commence against the same team in the fourth match of the ongoing T-20 series at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

The top order has been a cause for concern, failing to score big consistently. Even though opener Dilara Akter played well in the last match, the team still fell short. Chasing a modest total, Bangladesh's batters were easily dismissed by India's bowlers, particularly during the powerplay.

Captain Nigar Sultana acknowledged the team's struggles but urged them to stay calm and focus on the process.

However, there have been uncharacteristic errors on the field as well. Batsman Murshida Khatun has been run out twice in a row, both times off free hits.

The bowling hasn't been much better, especially in the early overs. While the bowlers have managed to restrict the opposition later in the innings, the damage done by the openers proves too much to overcome.

Despite the team's struggles, there have been some bright spots. Youngster Taijul Islam's catching has been a positive takeaway from this otherwise disappointing series. Bangladesh will need to find a way to address their batting woes and tighten up their bowling if they want.
