Technical Education Board records 73.63pc pass rate in SSC exams

The results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations were published yesterday, with the Bangladesh Technical Education Board securing a pass rate of 73.63%.

The announcement was made during a press conference held at the conference room of the Dhaka Education Board. Professor Dr Khondoker Ehsanul Kabir, chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and president of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, officially presented the results.

According to the published data, a total of 138,204 students from 2,901 institutions took part in the vocational examinations under the Technical Education Board at 619 exam centers across the country. Among them, 101,757 students passed the examinations successfully.

This year, 4,948 students under the Technical Education Board secured the highest grade, GPA-5.

Meanwhile, across the country’s nine general education boards, the Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board, and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, a total of 1,904,086 students appeared in the SSC and equivalent exams. The combined pass rate across all boards stood at 68.45%, with 139,032 students achieving a GPA-5.

Educationists have noted a moderate improvement in the technical sector’s performance compared to previous years. They believe that the growing interest in vocational education and skill-based training is contributing to better outcomes among technical students.

The Education Ministry has emphasized the importance of technical education for creating a skilled workforce in the country and has assured continued support to improve the quality of technical education and expand vocational training opportunities for students.

This year’s SSC and equivalent exams results are available online and via SMS for students and guardians across the country.
