Khaled Mahmud Sujan served as the team director of the Bangladesh national team in the last ODI World Cup. He had been performing this duty for a long time.

He performed many responsibilities starting from coaching to almost all the needs of the team and became a vital part of the team management.

However, the former national captain wants to cut the ties with the national team.

After the last ODI World Cup, a huge change became in Bangladesh national team including in captaincy and in all sectors of team management.

After the World Cup, several coaches have also been removed from their duties. This time Sujan also expressed his desire to step down.

The BCB director said, “I am no longer needed in the Bangladesh team.”

“I am not interested about to remain in post. I think I am doing a good job. What I did in the last World Cup I think is not the end of my cricket career. Maybe I'm not such a great coach, but still  players respect me. And I think I didn't get that honor in the last World Cup from the BCB. So I don't want to do that ever again,” said Sujan

Sujan said that he does not want to be in any position of the Bangladesh national team, “I don’t want to go to those positions. I am happy with my life. I am working with Abahani, worked in BPL, and worked in cricket academy in Rajshahi. I am ready to do anything for the development of cricket of the country.

After returning from the World Cup, Sujan said that his opinion was not taken on any matter, starting from the arrangement of the team.

There was a rumor that he had not good relation with the head coach Chandika Hathurusingha during the World Cup.

Talking about Hathuru, Sujan said, “Hathuru might be the best coach in the world, it’s not my headache.”

He said, “I am no longer a boy of 28-29 years. I have to keep my honor now. I respect Papon as before. But I requested Papon Bhai not to ask me to do any more work as  a director.”
