Bangladesh’s ace all-rounder and former skipper Shakib Al Hasan has rejoined Bangladesh's T20I team after nearly a year's absence. He's been selected for the concluding two matches against Zimbabwe in Dhaka.

Soumya Sarkar and Mustafizur Rahman are also making a comeback, as the team aims to extend their 3-0 series lead from Chattogram.

Parvez Hossain Emon and Afif Hossain have been dropped to make room for the returning players, and fast bowler Shoriful Islam is being rested.

Shoriful participated in the first two T20Is, while Parvez and Afif were absent for all three.

Shakib, who was the captain during his last T20I stint, showcased a match-winning performance against Afghanistan in Sylhet in July 2023. However, health issues curtailed his participation post the ODI World Cup in late 2023. Najmul Hossain Shanto has since taken over captaincy across all formats.

Meanwhile, Mustafizur Rahman returns after a break following his IPL season with Chennai Super Kings, where he impressed with the ball. Soumya Sarkar is back from a knee injury incurred during the third ODI against Sri Lanka on March 18. The upcoming T20Is in Dhaka will be crucial for the selectors to solidify Bangladesh's squad for the T20 World Cup, with the final squad announcement expected on May 13, following the final T20I.
