Rajshahi University (RU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nepal’s Tribhuvan University to strengthen bilateral relations and foster cooperation in education and research, especially in the field of law. The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at the university’s administrative building yesterday.

RU Vice-Chancellor Professor Abu Saleh Hassan Naquib and Professor DN Parajuli, Head of the Department of Law at Tribhuvan University and leader of a five-member Nepalese delegation, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.

Through this agreement, both universities aim to promote mutual academic exchange, joint research initiatives, and collaborative programmes focusing on legal education. The MoU also highlights the exchange of faculty members, researchers, and students, as well as the organisation of joint conferences, seminars, and workshops on legal studies.

Marking the signing, a view-sharing meeting was organised where delegates from both universities exchanged ideas and opinions on how to advance bilateral cooperation and ensure effective academic partnerships. The meeting discussed possible avenues for student exchange programmes, joint publications, and collaborative research projects that will benefit both universities.

RU Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Main Uddin, Dean of the Faculty of Law Professor Abu Nasser Muhammad Wahid, and Chairman of the Department of Law Professor Sayeeda Anjum were present at the event along with other senior faculty members.

Speakers at the programme expressed optimism that the new understanding would open up new opportunities for teachers, students, and researchers of both universities and contribute to the development of legal education and research in the South Asian region.
