REHAB Ctg committee holds meeting with govt high-ups

REHAB Chittagong Regional Committee held a meeting  with Cox's Bazar District Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin, CoxDA Chairman Mohammad Salahuddin, Police Superintendent Md. Saifuddin Shaheen and Additional DIG Md Apple Mahmud on June 22 and 23 at the offices of these organizations.

REHAB Vice President and Chittagong Regional Committee Chairman Haji Delwar Hossain highlighted the long-standing stagnation in housing management and project approval related to the tourism industry in Cox's Bazar, the world's longest sea beach and the country's only tourist city, and the issues of tourist safety. 

He said that if the mentioned issues can be resolved to attract domestic and foreign tourists, the government will be able to earn hundreds of crores of taka in revenue from the tourism sector.  

REHAB members have invested thousands of crores of taka in Cox's Bazar, but due to the lack of approval for the construction of the project for a long time, on the one hand, developers, landowners, and flat buyers are facing huge financial losses. 

In addition, the government is being deprived of hundreds of crores of taka in revenue.

 At this time, he sought the cooperation of all the authorities concerned to resolve the current stagnation in the Cox's Bazar tourism industry.

In the view-sharing meeting, Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Salahuddin decided to organize a coordination meeting with REHAB and all stakeholders under the management of the district administration by next July to resolve the problems related to the tourism industry.

Cox'sbazar Development Authority (CoxDA) Chairman Mohammad Salahuddin, Superintendent of Police Md. Saifuddin Shaheen and Additional DIG Tourist Police Md. Apple Mahmud assured to organize a coordination meeting with the participation of all concerned. 

The meeting was attended by REHAB Director and Co-Chairman-1 of the Chittagong Regional Committee, Mohammad Morshedul Hasan, and Regional Committee members Syed Irfanul Alam, Sharist Binte Noor, and Md. Mainul Hasan.
