Mohammedan Sporting Club (MSC), once one of the two most popular teams in Bangladeshi club football history, are a declining force. The Black and Whites, though past their prime, retain a rich tradition their supporters, the MSC faithful, hold dear. The weight of the club's black and white jersey continues to motivate them towards success.

In a remarkable comeback, MSC secured a place in their third Federation Cup final in a year on Tuesday, defeating Bangladesh Police FC 2-1 at Flight Lieutenant Bir Sreshtha Matiur Rahman Stadium. Their opponents in the final, to be held on 21st May, will be the winner of the second semi-final between Bashundhara Kings and Abahani Limited.

The team's coach-manager, Alfaz Ahmed, is understandably pleased with their resurgence. "We've reached the final on merit," he declared, "and our next objective is to become champions. It will be a do-or-die match, and everyone will be fighting for the trophy."

MSC manager Imtiaz Ahmed Naqib echoed this sentiment, stating, "We're striving to recapture our former glory. We'll be back to our best soon."

Having lifted the trophy last season, MSC reached the Independence Cup final this term, only to be defeated by Bashundhara Kings. Currently sitting second in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the league title appears out of reach. However, by winning the Federation Cup again, MSC have the opportunity to equal Abahani Limited's record of twelve league titles.
