Acclaimed Bangladeshi artist Muhammad Monsoor Kazee has returned to the spotlight with his third solo art exhibition titled Co-existence of Abstract. The exhibition opened at Safiuddin Shilpalay in Dhanmondi on July 11 and will run until July 15.

This special exhibition showcases around 70 of Kazee’s paintings, featuring works from his popular Emotion Series and Face Series. The opening ceremony, held last Friday, was attended by noted figures from the country’s art world. Prof Emeritus Rafiqun Nabi was present as chief guest, while freedom fighter and artist Prof Syed Abul Barq Alvi and celebrated painter Prof Syed Saiful Kabir joined as special guests. The programme was chaired by Prof Mizanur Rahim.

Speaking at the event, Monsoor Kazee said, “My paintings are expressions of direct sensory experience. Through geometric forms, lines, and colours, I try to build an inward-looking world — felt deeply, though not always explained.”

Kazee’s works are known for their deep reflections on form, emotion, and the abstract. In this exhibition, he explores the delicate space between structure and spontaneity, often transforming familiar images into pure abstraction. His Face Series takes portraiture beyond recognition, while the Emotion Series captures inner feelings through colour and shape.

Art lovers, students, and fellow artists gathered in large numbers on the opening day, drawn by Kazee’s unique ability to connect sensory experience with meditative visual storytelling.

Prof Rafiqun Nabi praised Kazee’s bold and experimental work, saying, “There’s a beautiful play of fragmentation and renewal in his approach. His style is profoundly distinct.”

The exhibition is open daily for visitors from 5pm to 8pm at Safiuddin Shilpalay.
