An exchange of views for the selection of land and starting of the academic activities of Meherpur University was held at the Circuit House auditorium of Meherpur on Saturday morning.
Monir Haider, Special Assistant of the Chief Advisor (Consensus Commission) Monir Haider, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor, attended the meeting as the chief guest. The meeting was also attended, among others, by Vice-Chancellor of Meherpur University Dr. Sheikh Bokhtiar Uddin, Deputy Commissioner Sifat Mehnaaz, and Additional Superintendent of Police Jaminur Rahman Khan.
Dr. Sheikh Bokhtiar Uddin informed at the meeting that the university authorities have already sought government approval for five faculties. Once the departments receive clearance, we are fully prepared to begin academic operations from the next academic session, he added.
Senior district administration officials were also present at the meeting.
