Popular Bangladeshi actress Jaya Ahsan's new film "Dear Ma" has been released in theatres across Kolkata. The film, directed by noted Indian filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, opened on Friday and revolves around the emotional bond between a mother and her daughter.
Jaya Ahsan plays the role of a mother in the film, a character she is portraying for the first time in her career. Opposite her is Indian actor Chandan Roy Sanal, who plays a significant role in the story.
Speaking to the media, Jaya shared her excitement, saying, "Today is truly a special day for me. 'Dear Ma' has finally been released. I want to thank the audience and hope they will receive the movie with love. Everyone in the team has worked really hard, and I’m proud of our collective effort."
On her role, the actress added, "This is the first time I’m playing a mother on screen. I’ve given my best, and now it’s up to the audience to decide. The story itself is deeply touching."
Jaya is actively participating in promotional events for the film in various locations across Kolkata. Meanwhile, she is also busy with the shoot of another film titled "Ardhangini" in Kolkata.
Her upcoming film "Putul Nachher Itikatha" is also set to be released in Kolkata soon.
