‘Govt to enact journalists protection law soon’

Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Justice AKM Abdul Hakim said the government is going to enact the law for the protection of the journalists’ community. 

He said this while inaugurating as chief guest the day long training course on preventing the yellow journalism and practice fair and true journalism at Jhenaidah circuit house conference room of Saturday organised by Bangladesh Press Council.

Justice AKM Abdul Hakim said newspaper or journalism is the key media to make the country wealthy and rich in true sense when a journalist serves his or her performance with honesty, sincerity and accurate information. He had urged upon the journalist community to make collective efforts towards a new and transparent society on the basis of our blood-earned liberty in 1971 against the occupied forces without any conflict among them.

Presided over by Jhenaidah deputy commissioner (DC) Mohammad Abdul Awal, Bangladesh Press Council secretary Mohammad Abdus Sabur and superintendent of police in Jhenaidah Mohammad Manjur Morshed attended as special guests. A total of 40 media activists participated in the training course.
