A press conference was held on Monday at the home of slain farmer Abdul Aziz in Charchariya village, Palbandha Union, Islampur, Jamalpur, demanding the arrest and exemplary punishment of his killers.
The victim’s mother Paritan Begum, plaintiff Md. Azam Khandaker, and relatives alleged that although a case has been filed against 23 individuals, including Shahidur Rahman, no arrests have been made. They further claimed that the accused are now issuing death threats to the victim’s family.
Abdul Aziz was fatally attacked with a sledgehammer on May 19 over a longstanding land dispute and died on May 25 at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The victim’s family and local residents urged swift action by authorities to ensure justice.
