A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Eastern University (EU) and the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB). The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Conference Hall of Eastern University in Dhaka.
The MoU was signed by Professor Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Vice Chancellor of Eastern University, and Mr. Md. Kausar Alam, Vice President of ICMAB.
Several senior officials from both institutions were present at the ceremony. Notable attendees included Professor Dr. M. Sayedur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration; Professor Dr. Md. Abbas Ali Khan, Distinguished Professor; Professor Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; Dr. Abul Bashar Khan, Registrar of the university; Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Humayn, Chairperson of the Department of EEE; Professor Ashraf Hossain, Director of IQAC; Dr. Abdur Rahman, Director of IFBI; Syed Habib Anwar Pasha, Chairperson of the Department of Business Administration and Mr. Md. Abdul Maleque, Additional Director and Head of Education Department, ICMAB, among others.
Under the MoU, BBA and MBA students and graduates of Eastern University will be eligible for exemptions in up to six courses of ICMAB’s CMA qualification program. In addition, students with good academic results will receive special scholarships when enrolling in the CMA program.
Both institutions will also have opportunities to organize joint academic programs, seminars, workshops, and research activities, which will help strengthen professional education and career development opportunities for students.
