Dhaka University (DU) is set to return to offline classes and exams starting next Wednesday, May 8 following a period of online learning due to the scorching heatwave gripping the nation. The decision was confirmed by Mahmud Alam, Director of the University's Public Relations Office, on Monday.

After weeks of conducting classes virtually since April 21, as temperatures soared, DU authorities deemed it necessary for the safety of students and staff. However, with the recent moderation in temperatures Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maqsood Kamal has given the approval for a return to in-person learning and examination sessions.

In a press release issued by the university, it was emphasized that classes and exams will resume as per the regular schedule, with the university community adapting to the change in learning mode once again.

This decision comes as a relief to students and faculty members who have been adjusting to the challenges posed by the extreme weather conditions, and marks a step towards restoring normalcy in academic activities at Dhaka University.
