A total of 492 new dengue cases were reported across the country in the last 24 hours, along with three more deaths, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 12,763 since the beginning of this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the latest fatalities, the death toll from dengue stands at 48.
Barishal Division (excluding city corporation areas) reported the highest number of new infections, with 154 fresh cases.
As per the latest DGHS data, Chattogram Division (excluding city corporation areas) recorded 51 new cases, Dhaka Division (excluding city corporation areas) reported 69 cases, while 36 cases were detected in Dhaka North City Corporation, 53 in Dhaka South City Corporation, and 61 in Rajshahi Division.
Last year, dengue claimed 575 lives across the country.
So far this year, a total of 12,763 dengue cases and 11,409 recoveries have been recorded, the DGHS said.
