The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has organized three special workshops over three days to enhance cybercrime investigation and social media monitoring capabilities.
CTTC Additional Commissioner Md. Masud Karim inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest at the CTTC conference room on Tuesday morning. The workshop will continue till Thursday.
Deputy Police Commissioner of the City-Cyber Crime Investigation Department Md. Shahjahan Hossain presided over the inaugural ceremony.
Md. Masud Karim said that the knowledge gained through the workshops will play an important role in enhancing the cybercrime investigation capabilities of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Through CTTC's workshops, participants will receive practical training on modern investigative techniques and digital evidence management.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police is committed to enhancing the technical skills of DMP police members to combat the threat of cybercrime.
The topics of the workshops include - techniques for collecting and analyzing information from social media, basic steps in collecting and processing digital evidence, and techniques for investigating financial transactions and IP trails.
Around 40 police members and officers ranging from constable to additional deputy police commissioner are participating in the workshop, including representatives from DMP's IAD Division, DB-Cyber Division, and Women Support and Investigation Division.
