12th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CMCCI) was held on Saturday afternoon at the CMCCI conference room.
The meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. CMCCI Vice President AM Mahbub Chowdhury presided over the function. Vice President Mohammad Abdus Salam, Director Md. Ferdous Wahid Bappi, Professor Ahsanul Alam Parvez, Professor Jahangir Chowdhury, Engineer Md. Sakhawat Hossain, Alhaj Mohammad Shafi, M Solaiman, FCMA, Ajit Kumar Das, Mohammad Masud Karim, BSRM Group Deputy Managing Director Tapan Sengupta and Bengal Shipping Lines Representative Sheikh Habibur Rahman and other members were present at the event.
The activities of the last year's annual general meeting, annual report, last year's accounts and the appointment of the current year's auditor were discussed. After discussion and review, the reports raised in the meeting were unanimously approved.
CMCCI Vice President AM Mahbub Chowdhury said that businessmen are playing an important role in advancing the country's economy.
To advance the country's economy and make the country prosperous, small, medium and large industrialists must work together, forgetting all their differences.
The current board of directors is continuing its activities for the development of the country's private sector as per the promise made to the members of the CMCCI General Assembly.
He expressed hope that the initiatives and suggestions of everyone will play a helpful role in accelerating the activities of CMCCI in the future as well.
