An experience-sharing event on high-density mango cultivation with drip irrigation was held Wednesday in Mohipur, Chapainawabganj Sadar, under the "Climate Resilient Agricultural Advancement in Barind (CAB)" project.
Retired Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer Sadikul Islam chaired the event. Dr. Md. Yasin Ali, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, was present as Chief Guest, with Dr. Ashish Kumar Saha and Dr. Md. Mosharraf Hossain from the Regional Horticulture Research Centre as special guests.
Speakers highlighted the importance of climate-smart agriculture in improving water efficiency, boosting productivity, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, utilizing fallow land, empowering women and youth, and enhancing exports through stakeholder partnerships.
Funded by HSBC and implemented by SAF Bangladesh with field support from DASCOH Foundation, the event gathered mango growers from Paba and Chapainawabganj. Project managers BM Saidur Rahman, Mahfuzur Rahman, Sanjoy Kumar, and Afzal Hossain were also present.
