Candidates between ages 23-25 are more likely to get BCS jobs

The Bangladesh Civil Service, or BCS, tends to hire candidates primarily between the ages of 22 and 25. Next in line for the final recommendation are candidates between the ages of 25 and 27.

Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has recently released its annual report for the year 2023. This information is known from the published report. The report has highlighted various information about the 41st and 43rd BCS.

According to the report, 39.90 percent of the candidates who received final recommendation in the 41st BCS were in the age group of 23–25 years. 27.94 percent were aged 25–27 years. Apart from this, 21-year-olds were 19.44 percent. 27-29-year-olds were 11.05 percent. 1.67 percent of candidates over the age of 29 received a final recommendation. 37.68 percent of the candidates who were finally recommended in the 43rd BCS were in the age group of 23–25 years. 32.27 percent are 25–27 years old. 14.66 percent are 27–29 years old. 21-23-year-olds were 13.68 percent. Among candidates above 29 years of age, 1.71 percent received recommendations.

According to the report, science students in 41st and 43rd BCS received the highest number of final recommendations. Science students accounted for 36.21 percent of the candidates recommended in the 41st BCS. In the 43rd BCS, it was 38.14 percent. In other words, more than 65 percent of those who received final recommendation in these two BCS are students of science department.
