BUBT holds orientation ceremony for Fall

Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) held its orientation ceremony for newly admitted students of the Fall 2025 semester on Monday at 11:00 am at the university’s Sports Complex.

The event was festive and vibrant, designed to warmly welcome newcomers into the BUBT community. Professor Dr SMA Faiz, Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, attended the event as the Chief Guest. In his keynote speech, he stressed the value of quality education, ethical values, and innovation for shaping future leaders.

Professor Md Abu Saleh, Vice Chairman of BUBT Trust, was present as the Special Guest. He called on students to stay motivated and focused on learning to contribute meaningfully to national development.

The programme was presided over by BUBT Vice Chancellor Professor Dr A B M Shawkat Ali. In his speech, Dr Ali congratulated the students and outlined the university’s ongoing efforts toward curriculum development, international collaboration, and research-based learning. He reaffirmed BUBT’s commitment to creating a student-friendly and inclusive environment. Registrar Dr Md Harun-or-Rashid delivered the welcome speech, highlighting the role of orientation in easing students’ transition to university life.

Brief speeches were also given by the Proctor and the Deans of the Faculties of Arts and Humanities, Engineering and Applied Sciences, Law, and Business and Social Sciences. They encouraged students to pursue both academic and extracurricular activities.

Two students—one current and one newly enrolled—shared their feelings and excitement about studying at BUBT.

The programme ended with a prayer break, lunch, and a colourful cultural session in the afternoon.
