Chuadanga Battalion (6 Border Guard Bangladesh – BGB) has recovered smuggled goods worth around Tk 19 crore during operations conducted along the 113-kilometre border areas of Chuadanga and Meherpur between January 1 and July 21, 2025.
According to a press release issued by the battalion’s Additional Director and Deputy Commander, the seizures include narcotics such as 2,478 bottles of liquor, 3,764 bottles of Phensedyl, 137.04 kg of cannabis, 116 pieces of yaba tablets, 1 kg of cocaine, 1.85 kg of heroin, 18,783 Tapentadol tablets and other drugs. Indian cosmetics, garments, onion and jute seeds, pesticides, and miscellaneous items were also seized—altogether valued at Tk 3.93 crore.
The battalion also seized 11.36 kg of gold worth Tk 12.95 crore and 36.13 kg of silver worth Tk 80.60 lakh. In six joint task force operations, items worth Tk 1.41 crore were recovered, including illegal fishing nets and sawmill equipment.
Fifteen people, including one Indian national, were detained for illegal border crossing and one foreign-made firearm with two rounds of ammunition was recovered.
