In a powerful and emotionally charged address delivered during a unique midnight reception on Monday, Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) President Tabith Awal unequivocally declared the women's national football team to be "agents of societal change" and pledged the federation's unwavering support for their ambitious "Mission Australia."

The triumphant squad, fresh from securing their historic maiden berth in the AFC Women's Asian Cup, were honoured at the Hatirjheel Amphitheatre at 3:00 AM on Monday. This unconventional timing, while raising eyebrows, did not diminish the significance of President Awal's message.

Addressing the players, coaching staff, dignitaries, and assembled fans, Mr. Awal articulated a profound sense of gratitude and national pride. "Not only on behalf of Bangladesh, but also on behalf of all Bangladeshis and all women across the world, we thank you," he began. He went on to commend the team for achieving two pivotal objectives: "You are rewriting history, and you are advancing the journey of changing society's mindset. For that, we extend our heartfelt thanks."

The BFF chief was effusive in his praise, highlighting the team's transformative impact beyond the pitch. "Because of the women's football team, the world is now viewing Bangladesh in a new light," Mr. Awal proudly asserted. "We are no longer a country solely associated with floods and calamities. We are a footballing nation. We are a nation that champions women's equality and women's empowerment. We will not regress, and we will not allow women to be left behind."

Crucially, President Awal underscored the BFF's commitment to the team's future endeavours. He affirmed that the federation would provide every conceivable form of support as the squad prepares for the Women's Asian Cup final round, scheduled for March next year in Australia. This tournament, he stressed, holds immense importance as it will also serve as a direct qualification pathway for both the next FIFA Women's World Cup and the Olympic Games.

Reiterating the widespread national backing, Mr. Awal assured the players: "The 180 million people were behind you and will continue to be with you. We are placing our trust in you. We are committing to stand by you. You go forth and need not look back. We will extend all forms of prayers, experience, and expertise to support you. Please carry on." He then concluded with a clear, concise mission statement: "We have one commitment, one slogan, one tagline: Mission Australia."

This impassioned address underscores the profound impact of the women's team's success, transcending the boundaries of sport to touch upon national identity and social progress, all encapsulated in the ambitious 'Mission Australia' slogan.
