A delegation of Bangladesh women cricketers alongside India’s skipper, who will take part in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup-2024, on Sunday met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Gono Bhaban.

Leading the delegation was Bangladesh's captain, the ever-reliable Nigar Sultana Joty. She was joined by her cricketing counterpart, India's skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, in a show of sportsmanship across borders. Also present were Youth and Sports Minister Nazmul Hassan Papon and ICC CEO Geoffrey John Allardice, highlighting the importance the event holds both nationally and internationally.

The Prime Minister even joined the delegation for a photo session, according to PM's Deputy Press Secretary KM Shakhawat Moon, signifying her support for the team. The Women's T20 World Cup is set to be a major event in Bangladesh, running from October 3rd to the 20th.

Bangladesh will be looking to make a strong showing as they host the tournament for the second time, following their run in 2014. Ten teams, including reigning champions Australia and powerhouse teams like England and India, will be vying for the coveted title.

This promises an exciting and competitive tournament for Bangladeshi fans to cheer on their home team.
