Bangladesh face Malaysia today

Bangladesh will play their third match in against Malaysia in Men's Hockey Junior Asia Cup today in Muscat, Oman.

It will very important encounter for Bangladesh remain in the race strongly to make a room in the junior World Cup to be held in India 2025. 

A total of six teams from Asia including host India will have chance to play in the World Cup. If Bangladesh could finish among the top six in the ongoing Youth Asia Cup in Oman, will have the opportunity to play in the Youth World Cup for the first time.  

But the Bangladesh national junior hockey team, following their impressive start after defeating the hosts Oman, suffered an embarrassing defeat to Pakistan on Thursday. 

After suffering the defeat, it turned very important match for Bangladesh at least to keep their alive to make room among top six.     

Bangladesh, who began their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Oman on Tuesday, went down to Pakistan by 6-0 in their second match of Group B. 

Pakistan, who have a log tradition of hockey and one of the strong teams in the world hockey, their junior sides just inflicted some of their power over their Bangladesh’s counter parts. 

However, Bangladesh despite maintaining the first quarter of the game goalless but could stop the formidable Pakistani boys in the rest of three sessions (quarters). 

Sufyan Khan slammed a hatrrick as Bangladesh suffered the massive defeat when Pakistan initiated scoring in the 23rd minute through Sufyan. 

Mohammad Ammad doubled the advantage when Sufyan Khan completed his hattrick with striking on 32nd 43rd minute. 

Rana Walid scored fifth goal on 51st minute when Hayat Zikria closed the score-sheet at the dying minute to down Bangladesh.
