Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) organized a workshop on "Import, Transport, Storage and Distribution Management of Non-Urea Fertilisers" on 25 August 2025 at Krishi Bhaban, Dhaka.
Dr Mohammad Emdadullah Mian, secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, attended the event as the chief guest. Additional secretaries, joint secretaries
from the ministry, and senior
officials of BADC were also present.
Presiding over the workshop, the BADC chairman said, "Under state contracts that the Ministry of Agriculture signs, BADC efficiently imports non-urea fertilisers from various countries and delivers them to farmers across the country. Our sound fertiliser management has prevented any artificial shortage of non-urea fertilisers anywhere in the country."
He added, "We are reclaiming BADC warehouses that other organisations used so we can ensure safer and more balanced storage of fertilisers. We have already secured the return of some of these warehouses."
The BADC chairman further said that the corporation has the potential to contribute more to the agricultural sector and advise all concerned to work with responsibility and accountability to achieve this goal.
