Akhaura Land Port on high alert as Covid-19 cases rise in India

The Akhaura Land Port  authorities under Brahmanbaria district have announced an alertness  at the land port areas due to the infection of Coronavirus in various places of India. The returnees from India at the Immigration Check Post at Akhaura were being primarily tested of the symptoms of the Coronavirus. 

It is learnt, nearly 150 to 200 passengers travelled through the Akhaura Land Port daily. Recently in some areas of India, the Omicron XBB type of Coronavirus was detected in the Genetic Sequence of some people in India. Special security measures have been taken in the land port areas so that the virus is not spread in Bangladesh. 

Health workers at the land port informed, so far no one infected with the virus has been identified but the people have been called upon to remain alert in advance about the infection of the virus. 

The symptoms of the Covid-Omicron  XBB include -fever, cough, headache, pain in the joint and in the throat, Pneumonia and the absence of hunger. 

Experts informed, this virus is five times more dangerous than that of the Delta variant and the rate of death by being infected with the virus is also more in numbers. 

Abdus Sattar, Officer-in-charge of Immigration Police informed nearly 150 to 200 passengers were crossing through the land port daily now days. 

Dr Noman Mia, Health Officer of the district informed  special measures have been taken at the frontier land port areas an the people of surrounding areas should be alert so that the Coronavirus can not spread through the passengers moving at the port.
