1,020 litres of TCB soybean oil seized from businessman’s warehouse in Ctg

A mobile court has seized 1,020 liters of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) soybean oil, which is banned from being sold open market in Fatikchhari of Chattogram.

Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Md. Mozammel Haque Chowdhury conducted the raid on the warehouse of Messrs. Kamal Store in Nanupur Bazar of the upazila early on Monday. During this, the shop owner Md. Iqbal (38) was arrested. He is the son of Khairul Bashar of raydar bari of dharmapur union.

According to the administration, although the sale of this government-subsidized oil in the open market is completely prohibited, the shop had been secretly stockpiling it for a long time and selling it to the general public at a higher price. The raid was conducted based on secret information and these oils were seized.

 UNO Mozammel Haque Chowdhury said that the shop owner has been arrested and taken into police custody for selling TCB oil in the open market. Legal action is being taken in this incident. Fatikchhari police station, members of Nanupur union parishad and representatives of the market management committee were present during the operation.
