A webinar was organized by Entrepreneurial Economists club of Dhaka School of Economics on 22nd August, 2022 titled “Tragic Darkness : 15th August, 1975 and Shock of Dhaka Grenade attack:21st August, 2004”. Professor Abdul Mannan, former Chairman, UGC, Bangladesh was the Chief guest and key speaker. He commented that General Ziaur Rahman (Retired), was involved in the 1975 conspiracy that led to the assassination of the Bangladesh nation’s founding father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and several members of the  family. Prof Mannan said that Mujibur Rahman and almost all members of his family were killed by a group of Bangladesh soldiers who staged a coup on August 15, 1975 and  Only Sheikh Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana survived as they were abroad during the tragic incident. Professor Mannan further commented that a grisly grenade attack was carried out on an anti-terrorism rally organized by the Awami League at Bangabandhu Avenue on 21st August,2004 where   Sheikh Hasina, the then leader of the opposition, was apparently the main target. The BNP-Jamaat alliance government along with Tareq Zia was the mastermind as Prof.Mannan observed. As a special guest, Dr.Supratim Chowdhury from India said indeed it was a pathetic incident.

Prof.Muhammad Mahboob Ali ,Economist,IT and Entreprenruial expert of Dhaka School of Economics commented that trgedy of the August

 must  should be alligned with national and International conspritators and cowrd and racist and oppressed force did these sort of messcar for personal gain.

Prof.Ali said that both the barbaristic incident happened due to national and international conspirators and also within and outside the party where Zia-Mustaq and Civil bureaucrat Mahbub Alam Chashi were involved. Rehana Parvin and Sara Tasneem, both Assistant Professor of Dhaka School of Economics  said that there is no language to express sorrowness of the tragic incidents and development of the country greatly hampered.Shamim Ahmad ,Lecturer of DScE gave vote of thanks in the webinar.
