Youth arrested with heroin worth Tk 10 lakh

A drug dealer with 100 grams of heroin has been arrested. He was arrested by members of the Drug Control Department's ‘Kha’ Ishwardi Circle from the road in front of the CCDB office on Ishwardi Airport Road in Pabna around 7:15 pm on Saturday. The current market price of 100 grams of heroin is 10 lakh taka.

The name of the arrested drug dealer is Harun Aur Rashid (22). He is the son of late Alauddin of Ramnagar village under Godagari police station in Rajshahi.

According to the Ishwardi Circle Office of the Department of Narcotics Control, on the basis of secret information that heroin was being smuggled from Ishwardi with the help of CNG, a search post was set up by the Department of Narcotics Control and led by the Department of Drug Control. He was accompanied by Sub-Inspector Mustafizur Rahman, Assistant Sub-Inspector Hafizur Rahman, Sepoy Abdul Momin and Shahinur Sarkar. 

According to the secret news, when the unnumbered CNG arrived, it was stopped and searched. The body of passenger Harun Aur Rashid was searched and 100 grams of heroin wrapped in a polythene packet in his pants pocket was recovered. Harun Aur Rashid was later arrested.

Bhupathi Kumar Barman, inspector of Ishwardi Circle, Department of Narcotics Control, said Harun Aur Rashid was a professional drug dealer. He has been involved in the drug business for a long time. According to the current market value the 100 grams of heroin recovered from him is worth about 10 lakh taka. The arrested drug dealer Harun Aur Rashid was handed over to Ishwardi Police Station on Saturday night after a case was filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act.

Ishwardi Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Nasir Uddin said drug dealer Harun Aur Rashid was arrested and sent to jail through a Pabna court on Sunday.
