A man named Tayyab (38) was shot and killed in a dispute at Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar. He is the son of local Dudu Mia.
The incident took place at Schoolpara village in Rangikhali Ward No. 7 of Hrila Union in Teknaf on Monday (September 21) afternoon.
According to local sources, the dispute between the local Abul Alam group and Gias Uddin group had been going on for several years over the domination of the area. The killing took place due to a dispute between the two groups.
The man killed is an active member of Abul Alam group and a fugitive accused in the Jasim murder case.
Teknaf Model Police Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) MS Douha said law enforcers rushed to the spot and recovered the body and sent it to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. He said legal action is being taken.
