Yaba worth Taka 10 crore recovered from Teknaf

Border Guard Bangladesh recovered 3,50,000 pieces of Yaba tablets amounting about Taka 10 crore 50 thousand from Letha Chhurikhal frontier area of Teknaf under Cox's Bazar district, confirmed lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Faisal Hasan Khan, Commnader of Teknaf-2 BGB Battalion from BGB headquarters on Wednesday (23 September) morning. 

He informed, on Tuesday night acting on a tip off that a large consignment of yaba drug would be smuggled through Letha Chhurikhal frontier area of Hrila union of Teknaf from Mayanmar,  a BGB patrol team challenged a boat coming from Myanmar inside the keora jungle near Letha Chhurikhal area around 9-00 pm. Sensing the presence of BGB personnel, several smugglers on board of the boat manage dto escape laving the boat filled with Yaba on the spot. 

By searching the boat, the BGB personnel recovered some 3,50,000 pieces of Yaba in four platic bags amounting  about Taka 10 crore 50 thousand.

He further said, the recovered Yaba drugs have been kept stored at the Battalion Head Quarters to destroy those in presence of the representatives of the Department of narcotics Control, Media and other concerned officials.
