On the occasion of the measles and rubella vaccination campaign for children, a day-long workshop for physicians was held in the meeting room of the Civil Surgeon's Office in Lakshmipur on Wednesday at the initiative of the World Health Organisation.
Civil Surgeon of Lakhmipur Dr Abdul Ghaffar presided over the programme while, while Deputy Director of the Department of Health and Family Planning and BMA President Dr Ashfaqur Rahman Mamun, Health and Family Planning Consultant Dr. Akhter Hossain and others spoke.
Local representative of World Health Organization Dr. Maliha Parveen gave the welcome speech. Ramganj Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Gunmoy Poddar, Ramgati Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Kamnashish Majumdar and other doctors working in five upazilas of the district participated in the workshop.
According to the workshop, all children aged nine months to 10 years will be vaccinated against measles and rubella across the country from December 6,2020 to January 17, 2021.
All concerned are instructed to keep a watchful eye so that no child of that age is excluded from the vaccination. The physicians were also requested to make awareness among the common people.
