A daylong workshop on religious harmony and interfaith dialogue held at Zila Parishad auditorium in the town on Thursday.
Deputy Director of Bogura Islami Foundation A B M Golam Sarwar presided over the programme while Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Al Maruf addressed it as the chief guest.
On the occasion, Additional Police Super Snigdho Akter, President of Bogura Imam Samiti Moulana Mufti Md Abdul Qader, its General Secretary Mostakim Billah, Hindu religious leader Shadananda Pal, Christian religious leader Palak Gilbert and Buddha Priest Jyotipal Mahathero spoke, among others. The speakers said peace is the essence of all religions. All major religions of Humanity have always prescribed calm and exhorted people for universal brotherhood, they added.
"So, we should not incite people in the name of religion," they said, adding that everyone has the right to practice his or her own religion.
