Workshop on curriculum design’ held at IU

A day long workshop on ‘Curriculum Design and Review’ held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Thursday.

In order to prepare international standard syllabus and curriculum, Institute of Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the university organised the workshop at the conference room of Accounting and Information System department around 11:30 on the campus.

IU vice chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari addressed at the programme as the chief guest where Prof Dr Arabinda Saha, dean of Business Administration faculty presided over the workshop.

Prof Dr Abdur Rab, vice chancellor of International University of Business Agriculture and Technology delivered speech as resource person while IU pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman and its treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha were attended as special guests here.

While addressing, Dr Askari as chief guest mentioned on self-assessment procedure, curriculum based education system as Outcome Based Education (OBE) and how OBE is related to Curriculum design.

The three things related to outcome based education which are-  teachers have to determine the outcomes, they have to determine the learning activities to achieve those outcomes and they also have to measure how much  of the outcome achieved by your learners, he also mentioned.

Prof Dr Zakir Hossain of Accounting department conducted the workshop while around 50 teacher of the faculty were took part there.
