A human chain was formed in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Gopalganj office on Wednesday demanding withdrawal of a case filed against chairman of Kandi Union Parishad of Kotalipara and some others.
A number of people of the upazila participated in the human chain.
The speakers said that a vicious circle had been conspiring against the UP chairman and some others for long. They filed a false case against some people, including the UP chairman, a school teacher, and a digital entrepreneur in a bid to achieve their ill motive.
As a result, development activities, including education activities in the area, are hampered.
The speakers demanded immediate withdrawal of the false case. They also demanded legal action against the real culprits after investigation.
The participants of the human chain submitted a memorandum to the DC and superintendent of police of Gopalganj in favour of their demand.
