A human chain was formed as a mark of protest of the false case against a district reporter of Jamuna Television of Chapainawabganj and district representative of the Daily Jugantar, Manoar Hossain Jewel, at the premises of DC office in Chapainawabganj on Sunday.
However, Manoar Hossain Jewel aired a report on corruption at the Shona Mosque Land port against MP of Chapinawabganj-1 (Shibganj) constituency, Dr Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul and his brother.
Model press club president and Sushashoner Jonno Nagorik (Sujan) district committee member Akhtaruzzaman Akhtar, vice-president Jamshed Ali Shant, general secretary and general secretary of Sujan's Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila committee, Zarif Hossain, organizing secretary and acting president of ‘Sujan’ Sujul Tusul, Rogan's chief. Alhaj Masidur Rahman, District Organizing Secretary, former Secretary of Women Affairs, President of Chapainawabganj District Press, Jafarul Alam and all print and electric media news workers of Chapainawabganj were also present in the human chain.
However, speakers in the human chain demanded a speedy withdrawal of the defamation case filed against Manoar Hossain Jewel.
