Univ teacher's body recovered in Natore

A body of a private university teacher was recovered from Halti Beel at Mohismary area under Naldanga upazilla of Natore district on Monday morning who was drowned on last Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Moklesur Rahman, 40, Lecturer of North Bengal International University in Rajshahi and son of Nurul Islam of Meherchandi Padma residential area of Rajshahi.

 Moklesur Rahman jumped into water to save his colleague Prapti Saha who was fallen in the water on the Beel on Saturday afternoon. 

 Shafiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Naldanga police station said, Moklesur Rahman was a lecturer of Finance Department of North Bengal International University at Rajshahi. He went to a boat journey along with his students and fellow teachers at Halti Beel under Naldanga upazila of the district on Saturday noon.

 At one stage Lecturer of the same University Prapti Saha was fallen down in to the water of the Beel. Then Mokhlesur Rahman and boatman Sohag jumped into the water to save the life of Prapti Shaha.

 Later boatman Sohag picked Prapti Saha from the water and return back to the boat safely but Moklesur Rahman drowned and went missing. 

 Though the fire fighters tried to rescue Mokhlesur Rahman from the water but they failed.

 On Monday morning, locals found a body at Mohismary area under the upazila and informed to the police.

Police later recovered the body and handed over to the family members.
