Uncle-nephew burnt alive in Brahmanbaria fire

A man and his nephew were burnt alive in a fire that broke out at a tea stall by gas cylinder explosion at Srirampur village under Nabinagar upazila in Brahmanbaria early on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Bayezid Mia, 18, son of Shah Alam Miah and Alamgir Hossain, 19, son of Khalil Mia of the village.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nabinagar Police Station, Ranjit Roy, said the incident took place at a tea stall around 3am. 

“A fire broke out after the gas cylinder exploded, killing two people on the spot,” OC said. The victims were sleeping at the tea stall when the blast took place. Locals and policemen rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze, added OC.

Meanwhile, police recovered the bodies and sent them to a local hospital morgue for autopsy.
