At least two soldiers were killed and 10 others were injured in a blast at a heavy weapons firing range in Bandarban Sadar upazila on Friday morning.
The deceased were identified as Jahidul Islam, 28, a resident of Lama upazila, and Nipun Chakma, 30. The injured were taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the Dhaka. They are now under treatment at the CMH.
All of them are members of Comilla Cantonment's 16-Para Battalion.
Bandarban's police chief Zakir Hossain Majumder said that the army was schedule to hold a firing practice at Amtoli on Saturday afternoon.
The soldiers were clearing the bushes when an abandon shell exploded at about 10:20am, killing Jahidul on the spot and injuring 11 others, he said.
Nipun died while he as being taken to the CMH.
