Two pirates killed in Cox’s Bazar gunfight

Two pirates were killed in a reported gunfight with police at Ali Akbar Deil area under Kutubdia upazila in Cox’s Bazar in the early hours on Tuesday. Police recovered a local revolver, four rifle shells and 400 yaba pills from the spot.  

The deceased were identified as Erfan Ullah Prakash Erfan Majhi, 32, and his associate Nur Hossain.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kutubdia Police Station Didar Ferdous confirmed the matter. 

He said that the members of the Erfan Majhi group fired at the police when recovery process was going on. Police counter fired for self-defense. Later, the bodies of two pirates were recovered from the spot. He also said Erfan is accused in seven cases, including murder case. The bodies of two pirates were sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital.
