Two killed in Chuadanga road crashes

Two motorcyclists were killed and another was injured in two separate road accidents at Boalmari and Kirongachi village of Chuadanga Upazila on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Mukul Hossain, 50, son of Nur Islam, resident of Ghatpara in Boalia village under Chuadanga Sadar Upazila and Raaj, 18, son of Majnur Rahman, resident of Madrasapara under Chuadanga municipality area. The injured Sajib, 18, was resident of the same area.

Sources said that Raaj and his friend Sajib were going back to Chuadanga from Kushtia on a motorcycle on Tuesday evening. Their motorcycle collided head on with a passenger bus near Puraton Mashjid of Boalmari village, leaving Raaj dead on the spot and another injured critically. Later, the locals rescued them and took them to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Raaj dead. Injured Sajib was admitted to the hospital.

On the other hand, Mukul Hossain was going back home on motorcycle after finishing his personal work around 9:30 pm on the day. His motorcycle had a head-on collision with another motorcycle at an intersection in Kirongachi village, leaving him critically injured. Later, the locals rescued him and took him to Chuadanga Sadar hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Chuadanga Sadar Police Station Sheikh Sikandar Ali said two people died in two separate road accidents. Their bodies were handed over to their families without post-mortem as there were no complaints.
