Two houses locked down, one detained in Shailkupa

Two houses were locked down in Shailkupa of Jhenaidah on Friday. The houses were locked down when a suspected coronavirus patient rushed to the house of a rural physician with some symptoms. The house of the physician is located at Shailkua Nagarpara, while the house of the patient at Haridevpur under Shailkupa municipality.

Locals and upazila  administration sources said, Abdus Sobhan, a driver of Haridevpur rushed at the house of rural physi0cian Sukumar Sarker in the morning of Friday with fever, cough, cold and some other symptoms. As the matter was noticed to the upazila administration, an executive magistrate detained the driver. They locked down the houses with red flags and advised the duo to stay in home quarantine.

Upazila health and family planning officer (UHFPO) in Shailkupa Dr. Rashed Al Mamum when contacted said the driver was advised to stay 14-day home quarantine to prove whether he was affected by the deadly Corona Virus or not.

Mention may be made that one person was kept in isolation, 71 in home quarantine and three houses were locked down in Shailkupa of Jhenidah so far.
