Two-day workshop for online journalists held

A two-day long workshop for online journalists was completed on Monday. This workshop was organised by Coast Trust in a residential hotel conference room at Kalatali, Cox’s Bazar. 

Subrata Kumar Chakraborty, Livelihood Officer of the donor agency-UNHCR, spoke as the chief guest at the closing session of the two-day workshop this afternoon.

He said that Cox's Bazar was  affected by the Rohingyas. So he wanted to work for the journalists, with the help of the locals.  He further said that they had already taken that project.

Disaster Management Specialists Gowhar Naim Wara, Assistant Directors of the Coast Trust, Barkat Ullah Maruf and Mojibul Haque Monir were assisted by UNHCR in the workshop.

Coast Trust's Team Leader Jahangir Alam, and BTV Cox's Bazar correspondent Jahed Sarwar Sohail. NTV Cox's Bazar correspondent Ikram Chowdhury Tipu, Bangladesh Post and Channel I's Staff Reporter Sarwar Azam Manik, Executive Director Rezaul Karim Chowdhury joined the discussion on the inaugural day of the workshop with online journalists.

Ukhia Press Club President Sarwar Alam Shaheen, Voice of Ukhia's editor Nur Mohammad Sikder, Mozem Hossain Shakil, Vice President of Voice of America, co-editor of Cox's Bazar News.com (CBN) were present.

About two online journalists participated in the two-day long workshop. The workshop began on December 28 and ended on December 29.
