Training workshop on SDGs held in Jhenidah

A daylong training workshop on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) was held at Jhenidah sadar. Another workshop was held at Kaliganj upazila.

Presided over by upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Jhenidsah Sadar Shammi Islam, deputy commissioner Saroj KUmar Nath present as the chief guest.

Jhenidah municipality mayor, also general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Jhenidah district unit Saidul Karim Mintu,  Upazila parishad chairman Abdul Alim,  assistant commissioner (land) Fatema Tuz Johra were present as special guests.

A total of 80 participants including upazila level government officials, head of educational institutions, college and university level students, media activists, social workers, environment activists, religious institution heads and leader, local elected representatives and head of the non-governmental organizations participated in the training course.

The participants detected the success and limitations of the SDG and how to overcome the situation primarily with local resources utilization.

In Kaliganj, presided over by UNO Subarna Rani Saha, lawmaker of Jhenidah-4 constitution Anwarul Azim Anar attended as chief guest. local government deputy director Saifur Rahman Khan attended as special guest.

The speakers expressed their opinion to take necessary measures to attain the SDG in due time detecting the shortfalls and limitation locally and find out necessary measures to meet the same.
