Bangladesh all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain consider Bangladesh as favorites in the upcoming ODI series in Sri Lanka. Tigers are scheduled to play three ODI match in Lankan soil, starting from July 26. Tigers are currently busy in team’s training sessions. During Saturday’s training session, Mosaddek spoke with the reporters, regarding Sri Lanka series.

“If you see, we are in a very good position considering both batting and bowling and additionally if you are counting experience then we are in a strong position. I think that, we always have the upper hand over other teams in these sectors. Compared to other teams in the world, we have the most number of experienced players. So, I think we are way ahead in this sector. If you see from all aspects, from the experience, we will be the favorites,” said the 23-year old batting all-rounder.

Due to holidays, Bangladesh will be missing ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and batsman Liton Das in the upcoming series. But Mosaddek was still confident regarding Tigers' chances against the Lankan lions.

“Even though we don’t have Shakib bhai and Liton, the players who replaced them in the squad are also performers. They have been performing in the domestic circuit. Additionally, [Anamul Haque] Bijoy scored a century a few days ago in the domestic league and Taijul [Islam] has been scalping wickets every day. When they will play international cricket, we will know their conditions. So, as a team I think we are a very balanced side.” said Mosaddek.

The Tiger’s World Cup campaign did not go according to plan but Mosaddek and the team do not pay too much heed to it as the team looked to do better in the upcoming series.

At end of the tournament, Bangladesh's position was 8th among the 10 teams of the World Cup. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka have finished the tournament with only one point more at no. 6.

Point list says that Sri Lanka are comparatively ahead of Bangladesh. However, that does not mean Sri Lankans have played very well. They earned 2 points due to rains blessings. Bangladesh’s record against Sri Lanka have been great, but nobody can guarantee what would happen.
