Two people were killed and four others injured when a thunderbolt hit them in Kalia upazila in Narail on Friday, reports BSS.
The deceased were identified as Nayon Barmon, 23, of Choto Kalia village under the upazila and Faruk Sarder, 25, hailed from Paikgacha upazila of Khulna district.
Local people said the incident occurred when lightning hit them around 11 am during rain as they were working in a fish gher in Vaktovanga Bil under the upazila, leaving them critical injured.
They were taken to Kalia Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctors declared them dead.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalia Thana Rifiqul Islam confirmed the incident.
